While we were in the Bay Area, this train loving family had to ride the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Railway -- of course! Nic was very jealous to have missed out on this one. We rode the train up into the Redwood forest to the top of the mountain. It was a fabulous day out.
Here is Kel in front of Dixiana, the gorgeous Shay engine that pulled our train.
Now, its mostly photos of trains. So move on if you're not interested.
Kind of blurry, but this is Dixiana going over a beautiful trestle in the forest.
Kel climbing a fallen Redwood. This is before the tragic accident that resulted in a scraped up Kel with a mouth full of dirt. Nobody ever called the kid graceful.
The big trees.
Before the railway, I took Kel to do one of his favourite things -- mini golf! This was a great course in Sunnyvale, near our hotel. Super morning out.
