World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7 2006)

In honour of World Breastfeeding Week, this is a photo of Kellan, aged nearly 2 1/2, nursing happily last weekend. He remains a happy nursling and I remain committed to providing him with the best and most natural sustenance available. I wonder if we'll be celebrating World Breastfeeding Week 2007?

Hey Nicola! :) I posted WTG to you on the CBB comments section, and am so pleased to know you have a blog. I have a xanga that is not regularly kept up to date, but wanted to connect with you as a fellow breastfeeding mama. I nursed Grace to 31 months, Lily to 33 months, and Felicity is 9 months old now. I am originally from Quincy, about 90 minutes west of you, and I lived in Springfield for a few years in college, mostly on Jefferson, working at White Oaks. Anyway, great to know you're out there in the wide world and have a blog too, doing your part to normalize breastfeeding!

Cheers!
Jeni

This is a beautiful picture! I linked to your blog from a comment you posted on blogging baby awhile back about the tornado in Springfield. I am originally from Springfield and my entire family still lives there.
I am currently tandem nursing a 3 year old and a 15 month old. It's so nice to know there are others "out there" nursing older children.

Ah, what a lovely picture. My daughter nursed till she was two months shy of her third birthday, when I finally weaned her. I know she has fond memories of it -- she's going on eight now, and she still likes to snuggle with her head on my chest. :-)
