Pumpkin Painting

Since he's still a bit too young to carve, we figured that Kel could do some pumpkin painting this year. It made for a fun and festive afternoon. The pumpkins look lovely decorating our house. And, of course, we've still got four for carving, so he can help me with the "guts"!

PS: I don't know what happened to make it appear that he has a bowl cut in some of these photos, but I can assure you that this is absolutely not the case. See photos in previous posts, taken on the same weekend, as evidence. Probably just the way that his shirt came off over his head before we started painting. However, since I cut his hair, he will probably use these rare bowl cut photos against me one day. In therapy.

Riding the Ghost Train

This is a fun Halloween event at the Monticello Railway Museum. We opted for a matinee ride on the Ghost Train where the spooks are slightly less "active" and the daylight provided fun, rather than frights, for our two year old. We even toured the Haunted Boxcar (with lights on), though that proved a bit frightening for Kel and we rushed our way past the blood spurting heads and cackling witches. A fun day was had by all.

Scary faces!

Jack 'O Lantern Spectacular

We attended the fantastic Jack 'O Lantern Spectacular this weekend and enjoyed every minute. There were 2006 beautifully carved jack o' lanterns, all aglow and lighting a perfect evening. Kel is going as Blue from Blue's Clues this year. It is one of his current favourites.

Lincoln Memorial Garden Festival

These were taken last weekend at the Lincoln Memorial Garden Indian Summer Festival. I have no idea what the down on one knee posing business is about, but this is only a sampling of the batch. He kept striking the pose and shouting, "Momma, take picture!". Funny kid.

A Day at the Decatur Zoo

These photos were taken last week, the last warm day of the season. We will pull out the t-shirts again in May. Or June. I hate winter.

The handsome Dad.
